OUR PROCESS

01

The excavation process begins with ordering utility locates, reviewing final drawings, and ensuring our in-house CAD shop drawing is complete and ready for input into the total station. The entire project is precisely laid out using the total station, with the operator providing elevation benchmarks for the excavator to follow. Once everything is in place, excavation of the footings begins. Any excess fill is stockpiled on-site and removed if necessary to maintain a clean and efficient workspace.

With excavation complete, footings are carefully formed and poured, allowing time for proper curing. Once set, 3/4″ clear stone is brought in to cover the building footprint, creating a tidy and stable base for the next phase. Afterward, wall-form cages are unloaded, and the wall-forming process begins. Once the forms are in place, concrete is poured to shape the walls, and the top is trowel-finished to the correct height, ensuring accuracy for the following stages of construction.

After the concrete has fully cured, the forms are unlatched, stacked into cages, and removed from the site. In residential projects, damp-proofing is applied, followed by installing weeping tile and 3/4″ clear stone for proper drainage. Backfilling begins using stockpiled material, with additional fill or stone brought in as needed if the native soil does not meet backfill specifications. Any excess material is hauled away to maintain a clean site. If required, stone is placed for slab preparation, and the subgrade is levelled and readied for the floor pour according to the specified elevations.
